Hi Gail — I, too, worry about them! I’m doing my best to let the public and the authorities know about how easy it is to coexist with just some simple guidelines and precautions, but firm opinions are hard to change. I’ll keep plugging at this! Janet

Janet, I sense that you and Charles may be known to the park authorities and perhaps a fair number of people who enjoy the park. They know how closely these coyotes are being monitored. That in itself may afford the animals more protection than they would otherwise have. I think you’re both doing an amazing job and have definitely found your niche as far as public awareness and education. I wish many more had such a valuable opportunity. It must be very satisfying.

Yes, the authorities definitely know of my documenting activities, but I really don’t know if their knowledge about my work affords more or less protection for coyotes. I’ve had fabulous support from the public, which, I think, yes, I can rely on if needed. Janet
