Coyote Feet, by Charles Wood

This video shows two coyotes on different days. The first coyote is a female intruder leaving my packs territory. I had thought that coyotes could walk with comfort everywhere. Now I don’t think so.

The second coyote is Dad. I wondered if, like my dog, Dad would avoid stepping in a big puddle. He did.

Interestingly, my dogs did the opposite: they deliberately went for all puddles rather than avoid them! They loved sticking their feet in that squishy mud! I had to accept that as part of the daily walk!

Very amusing. I’m sure coyotes are as individual as humans. A lifetime of dog-owning has certainly taught me to respect the individuality of dogs. I had one dog that hated rain and would, like Charles’s, go far out of her way to avoid a puddle. My current dog, on the other hand, could care less!

    Points taken. Individuals they are!
