Here are photos of coyotes looking up — I see this pretty often. I have seen a coyote look up when there was a raven above, but in these instances here, there were no ravens. There was probably some other movement that I did not detect: either a squirrel, or the wind or another large bird. Or, the coyotes may have previously seen something in these particular spots which caused them to look up.
