This is sickening! I signed the petition and donated. It looks like a lot of people are signing, so that’s good. I hope they don’t do this terrible thing!

It is embarrassing that a city fire department could be so ignorant and insensitive to think this would be a way to raise money. I find it totally repugnant, and even amazing that anyone, let alone a fire dept would consider this acceptable.

Killing an animal should not be used for fundraising or any other sport or hobby. There are plenty of other ways to raise funds

I don’t believe in killing contests. I believe that these types of events, such as trophy hunting, are symptoms of psychological disorder. To get joy from killing, when not defending oneself. I can also understand if hunting for food. But this seems to only fulfill bloodlust. We should be better

Firemen are supposed to help and save people and animals. Why the hell would this be a fund raiser. Excuse the hell out of me but their are other ways to raise funds besides committing these heinous crimes against innocent animals. We need them and they should be left to live in peace without fear of being poisoned, trapped or hunted! You are all sick, despicable, vile humans! A disgrace to our society!! I hope you all get hunted down one day.

Firefighters are looked at as protectors…yet these people are doing this! Coyotes are a vital part of our already fragile ecosystem, so not only are these firefighters and their employer, ignorant to this fact, but they are showing themselves to be psychopaths. This is disgusting and sad and all of them should be ashamed of themselves!

Thanks so much for posting this, Janet. The killing event is scheduled for January 16th thru January 18th, 2020. “Hunters” from NY and PA have been encouraged to participate. Trapped animals may be submitted. Let’s hope they see the light and cancel. Almost 20,000 signatures on the petition.

Thank you for this campaign. I just sent a donation to the fire department with some suggestions for fund-raising from an old mom. So glad you are out there.
